Hi, I'm Andy and started brewing from kits around 3 years ago but that only lasted about 6 months (not sure why i didn't carry on). Started up again at the end of january and have brewed (and polished off) coopers english bitter. I have a coopers stout with coffee conditioning in a king keg. A wilko apple cider clearing in bottles and a wilko newkie brown fermenting. I also have a red wine kit from the range which is ready for bottling in a few days.

I need to think about my next brew now. I think i need to get a pale or golden ale to balance things up.

I have been scouting around the forums for the past few weeks and picked up a lot of tips and helpful reviews so thank you all for that.

Thanks for the welcomes. Wine bottled and corked tonight, now in the shed to mature. How long would it last in the bottles do you think? (Without me drinking it of course)

Welcome to the Forum. :thumb: :thumb:

By all means try a taster bottle of the wine in about six weeks; and that should convince you to leave all the others that you brew for at least six months!

A decent high alcohol red wine will last at least six years ... :thumb:

... and to prove it, there's a decent eighteen-year old Chateau Latour available here ...

Be patient.

Believe me, if it's a decent wine it will be worth the wait and if it isn't why rush into drinking it when you could give it away as a Christmas present at the end of the year!
