Hi folks,

So...here we go! Put two brews on today - 40 pints of Wherry and 40 pints of Hi Juice Blackcurrant Turbo wine - the turbo yeast is going like the clappers! The OG is 1090 so am I right that I could expect something around 13 proof?

Would like to get into this

Oh possible first cock-up, but understandable mistake if I'm right. If that's the Alcotec Turbo Yeast you've used, it's not intended for wine/cider making.


But yes, OG 1.090 should give you something around 13% abv (Alcohol By Volume)

That would be around 23° proof, but no-one uses that scale anymore.

Thanks for the reply - yes, that was the yeast I used - i've seen many forums where people are using it. Will the turbo wine be useless? Hope not!
