Hi all

Having spent a lifetime draining the nation's beer supplies I have decided it is time to put something back! Got around a dozen brews under my belt (hence the post Christmas diet). Only one disaster so far, sadly at Christmas when I had to chuck around 30 pints away, so not quite as merry a Christmas as I had hoped for. Find the whole process fascinating, but oh so much to learn (how did anyone do antything before the internet and wonderful forums like this. Anyway, apologies if in the early days it is all take and no give, but hopefully as my experience grows I may one day even have something useful to contribute.

Sounds like your well inducted into brewing  shame about the Christmas batch  but it happens every now and then!

I found myself thinking that the other day when checking for cooker spares when out for a walk on the top of a very big hill in the back of beyond.....and I bet most kids take it forgranted

No need it's how we all start and carry on  I always find it fascinating when a question goes out and a reply comes back from a perspective you'd never have thought about

Hi and welcome to the forum. Some of us are old enough to predate the Internet. We survived by a few books, I was lucky enough to have access to home-brew shops and Boots sold kits and a limited amount of grains and hops. We survived, brewers are a hardy bunch.
