knackers , this was a free kit from an odder at xmas but to be honest the last one was a 10 quid kit that they charged me a fiver to send so its no great loss , hope no one lost to much off the shower of ***** company .

cheers for info chaps , il stick to Wilcos :)

I hear a lot of references to wilkinsons on here. Are they any good for homebrew supplies?

wilcos are just up the road from me and have had most iv needed , if done a couple of good lagers that were a tenner :)

you can order on line and pick up in store to :)

They're adequate and cheap crofty. But use your lhbs if you have one, its a small industry :)

TBH I totally agree. The guy at my LHBS has a wealth of knowledge and has always been willing to talk about brewing etc for ages with me so I get it right. I keep going back to him just for this knowledge and knowing that LHBS are very few and far between, I would like to keep him in business :-)

Yeah, that's it. It's good to talk with somebody likeminded, and when (and if!) you're out of the kit stage then you'll appreciate getting some advice and speciality ingredients from a store owner instead of a gimpy teenager who doesn't know a thing about it

the bloke in my local brew shop is a nice chap and helpful but tends to disagree with everything i read on here and i come out poorer than wilcos and more confused , i do see him for the odd bit of kit though :)

Wilkos are handy but in another thread I was reading they're not actually that cheap compared with at least some LHBSs.
But, you know, it's probably in the "factoring in the cost of petrol" level of price difference, nothing remarkable.
They don't have anything like the range a LHBS has, obv.

Same here. I once mentioned about a fermentation fridge to the dude at my LHBS and you'd think I'd just run over his cat from the reaction I got lol

Luckly every time i ordered from them i got my products, but just noticed last week they sent me the wrong Brewferm kit. I asked for Pils and got a Tarwebier. Lets hope its a nice one.
