[SMP Brewery]

I’ve been lurking for a while, so I thought it was about time so I said hello… Hello

Brewed a while back but for some reason stopped. Finally got back into it at the back end of last year, managed 4 brews in that time now, including my first ever Lager (Vienna) which is so slow to ferment compared to the other brews.

Know what you mean about the lager, I was very unsure about how slow it was (and the cold temps) compared to the ales i'd done in the past.

It’s so slow no idea if it’s fermenting at all, as it’s normally done by now

Hi and welcome to the forum.Lagers are certainly more of a challenge to a homebrewer and times and conditions differ significantly but once achieved it is certainly very satisfying but I still prefer my ales to lagers.

I much prefer ales to Lagers but SWMBO prefers them, she had a really nice Vienna Lager at the Verdant’s Seafood Bar so it’s something I’d like to make a decent one off, also find the history of it interesting as well.
