Hi, completely forgot that I'd registered for the forum a little while back and I'm not sure if I introduced myself at the time. I've just pitched my 9th brew in a little over 12 months, so I'm relatively new to all of this. I'm a midlander and enjoy quality ale, but not quality ale pub prices:onechug:

I love the festival kits and particularly the Razorback IPA and also their summer limited eddition Pale Ale the one with the elderflower sachet, along with the usual hops.

I have a Beerworks Spire IPA in secondary at the moment, 3 x 500ml bottles and a pressure keg, this one started off at 1063 and steadied down to 1010 after two weeks in the FV. I sampled the contents of the hydrometer trial jar and I think it should be a great pint.

I also have a Muntons St Peters Ruby Red ale which I bottled and kegged on Sunday, my first Muntons kit which didn't get a stuck fermentation, maybe they're sorting their act out? Again, the contents of the trial jar showed real promise. My previous Wherry and Nelson's Revenge both stuck and need a repitch to get going again.

Earlier today, I managed to commit a Ritchies Simply IPA to my empty FV and added 1KG of their Light spraymalt and 500g of some spare caster sugar I had knocking about, temperature of the wort was a little low at 17 degrees c so I added some boiled water and brewed tall at around 24 litres. Despite this, the starting gravity was 1042 at 21 degrees c, so hopefully should be a decent brew.

Other than the Festival Kits, my highlight of last year brew wise was a Wilko Golden Ale single can affair, which I pimped with 1KG LME and 500g Golden Syrup. I pitched a rehydrated Wilko Gervin Ale Yeast for this one and left it in the FV for three weeks. I Kegged it last May and only completely finished it about three weeks ago. It got better with age and reminded me of Leffe Blonde:movingbeer:

Anyway, that's me for now...I'll keep you posted, still got a Muntons / Woodfordes Bure Gold to go in, when I get a mo:wave:

Thanks! I've found the forum to be really useful TBH particularly with the stuck Muntons ferments and Pressure Barrel leaks, it certainly took some of the trauma out and saved a couple of brews:cheers9:

welcome aboard ...midlands?
Sorry bud...been away from the PC for a few days with family committments, yes I'm a born and bred midlander from Sunny Nunny (Nuneaton) and have got my teeth back into home brewing after a brief sojourn. Hope you're well, which part of god's country are you from?
