Hi - first time on here

I brewed a cider about 6 months ago and dear GOD its bloody nasty - cleans drains well tho - god knows why its that bad but its not a sanitising problem as i did that down to the letter - must just of been a crappy kit

But i fancy doing a chocolate stout - im addicted to youngs chocolate stout and would like to make something like that - but im o o o so confused on every recipe i find - non of the names of the ingredient match my local homebrew shop.

I dont really want to make a massive batch right at this moment so about 20-30 bottles of the stuff would be great - and if you could make a recipe with the names of things from my local homebrews website that would make life so so so much easier and less confussing.

the link bellow is a price list of everything that my local shop sells

http://www.brew-in.co.uk/wp-content/upl ... n-2011.pdf

Also the items i have are:

1x bucket
syphon hose
bottle capper
hydrometer
bottle brush

also im on a tight budget - £10 - £15

Thanks very much - oh and youll have to write it for and idiot ( ME )

:mug: cheers

Hi , people say stay away from cider kits as they tend to be very poor , your best bet for cider is using apple juice . There are recipes here to follow. And why not try a copper stout and add coca powder say around 60 to 80 g just chuck it in your brew when its all made up before you add the yeast giving your brew a good mix , maybe try this 1 Irish Stout 2871 / 1634 / 26076 £13.49
