Heat Mats

I'm always trying to save money and wondering if anyone has used a Reptile Heat Mat instead of the usual Brewers Heat Mat? With various sizes and from 5w to 45w would these be any good?

Ideally in the future I want to create a beer fermenting fridge but the size of some of these mats would probably cover 2 FVs

I use a reptile heat mat in my brew fridge. Its about 9 inches by 7, dont remember how many watts.
I prop it up in the door shelf and feed the cable between the door seals.
