Looks like I'll be donning a pair of easter bunny ears come weekend and make me an APA. It's going to be along the lines of SNPA but I'm not shooting for a clone - just something nice and refreshing to quaff on those balmy summer evenings... Got my yankee hops ready and I'll use mainly pale ale and a touch of crystal malt. I was wondering if I could also throw in a little something for head retention. What gives? I have torrified wheat and flaked barley. Either, neither or both? How much for a 23L brew?

Thanks Mark + Bones! I discovered I have some wheat malt left. As both flaked barley and wheat malt are used in such small amounts, is there really any difference between the two as regards to taste?

I just brew kits, but have a question.

When i've drank wheat beers in pubs, they seem to lose their head quicker than other beers.

If wheat malt helps head retention, why is this?

Ta Bones. Hmm, could clearing be an issue should I use wheat malt..? I reckon WLP002 should see to it, a flocculent little bugger that it is.

Shearclass - I have no idea... But someone around here should definitely know.
