I plan to brew a Chocolate and Hazelnut stout but have never added hazelnut before. I think from reading some recipes that a hazelnut food additive is a good way, added when bottling.

So, I'm just checking if anyone else has used this method, and if so which is a good brand to get and how to much to add?!

Not used hazelnuts in a beer but love the flavour in a morning coffee, so it would be nice if your Chocolate and Hazelnut Beer works!

The recipe has an ABV of 6.2%, so I would consider it a "sipping beer" which would be great for Christmas. :thumb:

BTW, after my "Barley Wine Disaster" I always check the amount of Chocolate Malt in a recipe ... :laugh8:

... and at 340g it should let the hazelnut flavour come through the chocolate.

Please keep us posted on the method and results. :thumb:
