I have just started a Coopers English Bitter kit and I totally misread the instructions. I used 1kg of Coopers Brew Enhancer 2 and after another read I believe I should have used 500g of sugar and 500g of light spray malt. The kit had an opening gravity of 1045 and sitting at 24 degrees it looks like it has started to ferment. Do I need to do anything or should I leave well alone.
thanks

I've never used it, but I remember reading on this forum that Brew Enhancer is 50/50 sugar and spraymalt. So it sounds like you've done exactly what was required! :thumb:

Anyway, definitely leave it alone, and try to keep the temperature down to about 20°C if you can.

24C sounds a bit hot for a usual ale/bitter, though I don't know the kit. I'm guessing 20C would be far better, to avoid off-flavours. If you can't get that cool, try standing it in a water bath to at least even out the day/night temperatures.

Thanks for both the replies. The temperature has dropped a little and is hovering between 20 and 22 so I think I will leave well alone.

I too made this with the full kg of brew enhancer, came out at 5.3%. Pulled my first pint last night and i have to say this is a cracking pint, quite strong, nutty taste and i think is my best one yet :)
