This is a little odd.
Last weekend (not just, but the one before) I did an AG brew. Mashed overnight and then sparged until I had 27ish litres in the boiler.
I had a couple of litres of wort left over in the mashtun, so put it in a sterilised 2L bottle and bunged it in the fridge, with the intention of using it for a reclaimed yeast starter or the like. With hindsight it would have been better just to bung it in the boiler and get more beer.
Annnnyway. Checked on the bottle on Friday, and it'd gone hard. So I let the air out, and it started fizzing properly well - it took 15 mins of gentle degassing to get the top off the bottle.
Since then it's been fermenting away like a good 'un, and this without any yeast being added.
I've put the cap back loosely on the bottle to allow the gas to escape, and am going to see what it does. It's not going to be a proper ale as there was no hops in it at this stage...
...If I taste it when it's finished, it's not likely to kill me is it?
