Harvesting yeast?

Just out of interest, has anyone tried harvesting yeast from bottle condition beers they have bought in shops?

I was just thinking would it make much of a difference to a kit if you used harvested yeast over the one that comes with it?

If anyone has harvested yeast what kits have you used it on and and what were the results? Id be interested in seeing what yeasts work well with each kit. I have a youngs bottle conditioned bitter in the cupboard, was wondering if this would be worth harvesting for my wherry when I get around to doing it

I have captured youngs yeast a few times, good stuff.

Good stuff, thanks for the help. I want to give this a go... But in trying not to drink this month after all I had over christmas.

I guess this bottle of youngs will have to sit and wait for Feb, will see if I can grab one if those other bottles too.

Just how much of a difference would these yeasts make to a wherry though. I want to do it, just to try the whole process, but would it really make much of a difference to the drink?
