Harris filter

I need some help with the filter I have just bought
I think it goes very very slow and the pads just seem to not let anything through after 2 litre?
What am I doing wrong or am I impatient?

did you use finings in the wine and let clear before you ran it through the filter as they do block easily.

Was trying to filter cider does that make a difference

Your problem is probably CO2 build up in the filter body. Try venting this and it will help. But the Harris filter is slow, so don't expect it to gush through. I have one, but don't use it now as I tend to do 25lt batches and it takes too long to filter.

I tend to use my filter to polish my wine.
If you try to filter without clearing first, it will block quickly. Also, give it a good de-gasing.
I have 'polished' 25 Ltrs with not problems (I have the Vinbrite MK3 that has a vent on it).
You can get an up-grade if you don't have the MK3.
