If you used to use GB radio back in the day you may be interested in this internet based system, HamSphere is free for 30 days then 10 Euro for 3 months or 32 Euro per year.

What is HamSphere - Ham Radio on your PC and Smartphone → HamSphere.com

I have been using this for roughly two months and have contacted 55 different countries on both 3 and 4 but still have a very long way to go if you have ever been interested in Ham radio but couldn't be bothered going thorough the hoops needed to obtain a licence or havent got anywhere to install large antennas this may be for you.

Please use this thread for CB Radio. chat i am going to try to keep this for HamSphere only, thanks.

If anyone has any questions feel free to ask and i will help if i can.

I installed it earlier and the log book and QSL card sending works fine, you have to input the callsign manually as in HS4 (unless i am using it wrong) but sending QSL cards is exactly the same -

How to call CQ -

Published May 27, 2015 | By Hairy Paul

CQ or CQDX must only be used ON A CLEAR FREQUENCY.

There seem to be many operators who will reply to a call or try to call into an ongoing QSO on an already occupied frequency with ‘CQ CQ’ and then their call sign. This should NOT be done..

CQ and CQDX calls MUST only be used on a CLEAR frequency…

When replying to another stations CQ or CQDX call you do NOT say CQ or CQDX back, you should say your Call Sign only ONCE, that is all that is needed.

When You have transmitted your call sign, WAIT for the other station to call you in to make contact. There may be other stations also replying to their call so you must listen for them to call you (or another station they have heard) in to make contact..

All information other than your call sign can wait until you are called in for contact.

When you are called in for contact that is when you can give Signal report, Operators Name, location and any other information.

I have been testing Hamsphere on my smartphone and it works so you can use it on the go if you have a car that can connect to your phone or when parked if you haven't.
