Hi All,
Newbie from Cheshire here.
Got my 1st brew on the go, I was given a kit by t'wife for my birthday (it was my suggestion!)
It's a Yorkshire Bitter from master Brew.
Currently, it's 1016. It was 1020 the day before yesterday, so I'm leaving it alone for a few days.
I unfortunately, have to brew in the garage, so keeping the brew's temperature stable is challenging. I've not used a belt, or aquarium heater, I've got the FV in a cardboard box, wrapped inside a few blankets. The temperature has been more stable since I did this, but at first, the temperature went down to 16c! It's sitting between 18 and 20c since popping it in a big box...
I know that teh taste will be affected by big temperature swings, but hopefully a swing of 2 degrees or so will be OK..
Next kit's a MilleStone Black Pearl, I prefer dark beers and porters.
Hopefully, as I get more experience, I'll progress into AG, but for the time being, I''l use kits!
