Hello everyone,

Still new to home brewing and everyone has been extremelly helpfull so far, great forum!

Currently I am brewing the coopers mexican Cerveza kit.

I took a gravity reading straight after adding my yeast >< forgot to do it before..... and the reading was 1040.

After 7 days say next to my boiler the reading is now 1045....This just doesnt seem right to me. You can see a pretty distinguishable mark about 2 inches above the top of the beer where I can only presume primary fermentation has taken place.

I have used Coopers Brew Enhancer 2 and added to 19 liter mark as recommended in a previous thread.

Is this normal for this kit or is my paranoia correct and something has gone wrong???

No that doesn't seem right...but if you've had bubbles and you've got a crauzen then I'd say fermentation has happened...dont want to ask the obvious but are you sure you're reading the hydrometer right? A pic would be very helpful then could see the reading and your brew...

The beer looks really weak when looking at it, didnt notice it before.
