Hi
I am looking to make a hybrid Braumeister body with a Grainfather contolller. The Brau-Father if you like.
Can any body answer the following Grainfather questions.
Does the pump automatically start with mashing?
Also does it have a cut off temp when on the boil?
Or is the pump a manual operation?
The reason I am attempting this is a BM controller is over £400 and the GF is £100.

The pump does switch on automatically when mashing starts.
The heater controls thermostatically to 100°C during the boil, (there is thermal cutout on the heater, but this is mounted underneath the grainfather body rather than on the controller)
The pump and the heater each have an override button on the controller, but can be controlled either manually or automatically by the controller, based upon the specifications in your recipe.

Keep us informed how it works out.

You will just need a kettle style socket on the pump and heater cables.
