gotta head for heights

We went on The Manchester Wheel yesterday, never got round to it when it was down by M&S, now it's returned to Piccadilly thought we ought to give it a go. The Lad doesn't like heights, and his mum's not that keen either, so we were relieved when they pointed out the GetMeDown button. Didn't need it, though we felt a bit odd when stopped at the very top with the gondola rocking a bit...
Spoze everybody's seen this: http://www.viralnova.com/dangerous-trail-huashan/

Did this one when I was about 12 yrs old The El CAmino Del Rey in Southern Spain. It is a footpath built on a vertical rock face used by workers building the dams and railway. There are no hand rails for most of its length.

I saw some of that programme last night. Couldn't watch it. MEGA palm sweat. My heart raced just watching it. That guy will die doing that stuff. The way he just stepped straight over that edge on the flats in Russia - no tests, straight to one hand, dangling. Urrghhh.

There's an amazing video of him on YouTube climbing a crane in Southampton Harbour. Watch to 2:25 if you can!

I am not really that bothered by heights, but those Ch4 clips made me feel quite sick.

The ***** will fall off of something at some point, then some poor sod will probably loose their job for 'not stopping him from getting in', while some other poor sod has to scrape him off of the floor.
You will never stop people from being stupid, but nowadays everything that goes wrong is always someone else's fault!

I would never do it as free climbing, but I can understand why he does it, I used to go caving (with harness and rope and all the other safety bits and bobs) so kind of understand where he's coming from. It is ace to see things from a perspective few others will ever see. The adrenaline rush is always good too (even if he tries to say that's not part of it)
