My wife picked up a kilo of Golden Caster Sugar for 40p yesterday and I was wondering if this could be used in the next IPA I do?..Has it the same potential fermentable strength, properties as normal sugar/brewing sugar or would I need to use more or less?

Golden caster sugar is the same as table /granulated sugar, but with smaller particle size, and with a little colouring added from a sugar based source. However table sugar is not the same as brewing sugar, since w/w it is more fermentable. So 1kg of table sugar is about 1.1kg dextrose in terms of fermentablity.
