Go to grains and hops

What are your go to grains and hops that you always have in your inventory.
I am putting a bulk order in, and I am looking for suggestions,
Pale malt I am good with, it’s the “others” you have?
Cascade/Citra/Magnum and Target is what I already have.

Tough question - it depends on the style of beers you like

Malt is easier, we have just organised our second bulk buy of malt (25kg bags)

This is the list

12 X Pale MO
7 X Pilsner
3 X Pale Planet
3 X Extra Pale Planet
3 X Pale Craft
1 X Lager

There are other speciality malts that people share but those above are the base types

If you are an ale man then some sort of Crystal is important

Hops are far harder - there is no such a thing as a base hop - all depends on what styles you brew

I tend to order my grain using Malt Miller or Geterbrewed recipe generator so it’s fairly easy for me to chop and change the grain for each batch that said Maris Otter is my standard base malt probably in part because it’s what a lot of my earlier recipe packs used (I suspect if they had used Golden Promise or any Other base malt I would be using that). That said I find it fairly reasonably priced and has given good results so have had little reason to change.

Cara Red (1kg) - adds a lovely golden colour at 500g per 25l))

Chocolate (500g)
Crystal (various colours) (500g of each)
plus a few weird and wonderful just in case

Hops around 225g of each
Galaxy)
Citra
Amarillo
Lemondrop
Fuggles
EKG
Bramling Cross
Challenger

I do have loads of other stuff but you can brew a lot of different beers with the above

I always have target and first gold in my repeat orders - they are just amazing at bittering and aroma respectively
Target gets used for everything and produces a really clean bittering taste, not too heavy and doesn't overpower if used carefully.

For grain I usually buy
25kg Extra Pale Maris Otter
2kg Vienna, Munich, Light Crystal, Carapils, Caragold, Flaked Oats

Hops, I buy 1kg bags from GEB, they work out less that half the price of the 100g packs usually sold by homebrew suppliers,

Mosaic

you can brew a huge number of APAs and IPAs with these ingredients.

I've pretty much always got Challenger (British styles) and Magnum (pretty much anything else) bittering hops, and generally a noble hop, but tend to buy the rest around my brewing schedule - tend to plan 4-6 beers ahead.

Malt wise, I wouldn't be without pilsner / lager malt and Munich 1, and I like to have some special B in, but apart from that I also get in what I plan to use

Thanks all, looks like we are all on the same wavelength, 75% of what you have advised is what I have in my basket.
I am going down the Golden Promise base malt route for a change and in the 25kg sack.
