Previous home brewer (partial grain) getting back into it and keen to try all grain brewing. Recently bought a second hand grainfather G30. Any tips and advice will be much appreciated.

Hello sgaindubh there's lots of full grain kits available which would be a good starting point as you cant go wrong. Theres quite a few places sell them and you get all the grains crushed and weighed in 1 bag with the hops & yeast included to make what ever style of beer you like to drink with instructions.

I echo the above CML, Malt Miller and GEB all have a good range of All Grain kits . You Tube a good place to see the G30 in action before you use it , just take your time and you will be fine .

There are a few threads on here and in other forums with general tips for the G30. A simple search should point you to them. The main advice is to wet the grain basket or dust with malt flour before putting the perforated plates in. Otherwise it's a pain to get them in without the silicone seals coming off.

I've also found that conditioning the grain (Grain conditioning for milling.) and attaching carry handles (Grainfather carry handles) helped a lot
