Hi all,

I started a ginger beer plant tonight.
The recipe calls for 1kg of sugar to around 15 pints of water.
How can i guestimate how strong the ginger beer will turn out to be?

Many thanks,

Paul.

use your hydrometer

I plan to but I was wondering if there was a calculation to give a rough guide?
Say I wanted it 5% how would I know roughly how much sugar I should be adding or does it come with experience?

What if I wanted it 7%? how would I know how much more sugar to add?

Thanks

-Paul.

sorry bout that thought you were on about calculating gravity
I was but from a point of view of how much sugar does it need to get somewhere near a desired gravity rather than using the hydrometer to measure the gravity.

Sorry, I don't always explain things very well
