Hey guys, are there different rules for getting a tiny brewery license in Scotland? Or can I just keep reading the stuff on forums which is mostly about acquiring it in England.

I do have a barn which I am converting at the moment so although it is on a private property (in a very rural area of Scotland), I would not be brewing from my house.

AFAIK most of the red tape is HMRC based so it applies across the UK. The other stuff will be done through your local council and they should be able to give guidance.

Pretty much like Mick said, the councils main concerns will be do you need planning permission and all the regs for being a food/drinks (its pretty much the same in England) producer. Trading standards will check you are labelling everything correctly and may want to know how you check ABV but I don't think you need to notify them.
