I made it up as directed, to the full 40 pints, but using 50/50 spray malt and brewing sugar. This is probably my third or fourth kit brew.

I was a little worried that the OG was only 1032 as it seemed a little low but chose not to worry as I'd read on other forums that kits usually don't vary much and the OG may have been off as I'd under stirred the malt.

It's been in the bucket for a little over two weeks and the fermentation has come to rest at 1009.

If my OG was off then, I suppose, I shouldn't be worried. But as the instructions tell me to wait until the SG reaches 1005, I have my concerns.

I've had it sitting at a constant 22C. Is it usual for these kits to finish with a SG at 1009? Is there any way I can nudge it down a little?

(Yes, I have calibrated my hydrometer.)

probably not as it sounds like its near enough done fermenting at the moment its 3.08% it might not drop any more. I dont think stirring it will help either. Just wait and see
