Geodesic dome

I'm looking at installing one of these big plastic domes in the garden of our holiday cottage,
Does anyone know anything about them?
I'm specifically interested in how they keep out the weather ie rain, and particularly
as it's in the West of Scotland, will the midges be able to infiltrate?

I like the idea of sitting in the garden under the dome having a beer and watching the stars.

Dreaming or a good idea?

Didn’t know these were a thing for gardens and you’ve sent me down a rabbit hole. I don’t think they look a terribly good idea yet I’m tempted by one myself now

Looks like it would work, what about a Midge Guard Machine? They need to be on all season.
Though for Midges the best thing is a fire or a fan

Bloody Scotts! They have to be better at everything. Now it's the Eden Project in their cross-hairs!

Midges will love it in there. No wind, humid and an all you can eat buffet.
