I was out the other night when my friend introduced me to geocaching, following clues to find a little "treasure" that you then log as found. It took me back to days as a kid when we used to go letterboxing on Dartmoor, of course in the days without sat-nav, mobile-phones and such.
But this new thing is all over everywhere, my little girl thinks its fantastic, it makes going out for a walk much more interesting

We do it regularly and have attended a few of the local meets recently. Its a fantastic way to get out and find places you never knew existed (literally on your doorstep too).

The best bit of advice is to get a premium membership and set up notifications of new caches within 10 miles of your home address and as soon as one is published jump in your car and go get it, not only will you have a chance of being the FTF (first to find) but theres a good chance other keen cachers will be there looking for it too and its a good way to get to know some of your local caching community.
