I'm fed up of this bloody weather :!:

Haven't brewed since 15th November, was ready to brew again then the freeze set in  Just got the last lot bottled before we were away for a few days then when we got back the freeze started

Unfortunately I'm reliant on 'hosepipe fed' water to the 'Den' and thats the big problem, still - 6 here during the day :!: overnight is a lot lower :(

I suppose I could bring everything up to the house, but that would be a real pain, prticularly wouldn't like the house filling with steam / condensation at this time of year

Mind you stocks have improved, the brew I bottled for the fishing club meet hasn't been used, the meeting was postponed so I've 40 bottles that I've now put in storage :thumb:

First sign of a thaw and I'm out there ;)

 Friday looks in with a chance

Then its a 'special' brew :wha:

influenced by my mates @ the OldAnglersArms ;) who have a particularly off the wall 'yuma' ;)

all will become clear (or more confused :wha: ) when I stoke up the kit on Friday

Im off this week so i was planning on getting a brew on now i have 2 more cornys to fill and ive just finished my Big Kenny  but looks like that will not happen as i brew outside for the moment im gutted still have a bit to go at though just dont want the stocks to fall too low

I had a brew planned for tomorrow, but can't be bothered standing around in the cold so am hoping for Wednesday :(

I really need to sort out better heating in the shed as the halogen heater isn't up to this weather, I nearly spent quality time with the family the other day ;)

ive been brewing today a ag brown ale :D . i must be one of the luckey ones as the mrs lest me use the spear room. got 200 pimts done for xmass and new year  plus all the slow gin and damson vodka :drunk:

spear room
you got some other hobbies beside brewing Shadow   ;)
The house, me, brewing, Mrs.S. just don't mix well  I will have to wait for the weekend when hopefully the brewery supply thaws. :D

must appolgese about my spelling it crap. it a known fact chefs cant spell :) . i even use the kitchen to mash in

only a joke S, I thought you might have something interesting to tell us, or might live in a Stately Home.
I certainly am no cook, good with a frying pan though :D and I'm not much better at spelling myself :D

I want to brew tonight but it's far too cold to be stood outside.... what's the issue with brewing inside... is it just that you are in the way of other family members? or is it the smell? I'm interested to know just how bad the smell would be and if it sticks around in the house for any length of time? Not sure whether to risk it :hmm:

Looks Like the weather will be warming up at the end of the week so I hope you get your brewday in soon Baz.

Alistair

I am allowed the kitchen as long as...

a few samples of the completed brew come her way and I tidy up after

Looks like a plan Baz...It seems Mrs Baz..meeting you more than half way ..unlike Mrs HWM

Mrs doesn't mind me taking over the kitchen, all the gear gets washed down with sanitizer :thumb: so granite worktops and sink shine when I've finished :thumb:

It's the amount of steam / condensation that I am bothered about, even with the extractor on full and window open I think it might be a bit much

However ........... Fridays looking good

Sorry to hear about your woes Baz. Frustration is the name of the game here as well. My luverly new boiler has been sitting in the corner since the day it arrived as I've been trying to track down SS bits locally - time permitting - to finish its conversion to a Doomsday Brew Machine, to no avail. Just bit the bullet and mail-ordered some stuff from abroad. I had these pipe dreams of just waltzing into a hardware shop and leaving post haste with every bit I need. Oh, to be young and naive... Have to do my brewing during the weekends and the next two have already been scheduled for other things (like helping my brother move to a new house) but the hopes of finally getting it all together around Christmas holidays keep me from sinking into the icy depths of despair.

So thats where I go wrong, not to mention leaving a sticky wet floor, never actually brewed in kitchen, far to much steam as mentioned, even bottling used to get Mrs. S
I think it was a space invasion thing for her, I don't think I would like her in the workshop rummaging through stuff and using the wrong tools for the job.
Neah its brewery only for me, to be fair she never complained about the build cost, perhaps thought I might move in down there.

Temperature has raced up to +1 today :thumb:

providing it doesn't go titz up overnight I'm brewing tomorrow

Righty ............ it's on for today, just going to set up

report will follow later :thumb:
