I'm thinking about getting a fridge for a kegerator, but wondering about sizes etc & whether I'll be able to fit enough kegs in.
I've got 4 of the small 3gallon cornies, but am wondering if its going to be possible to get them all in a fridge at the same time.

The dimensions are 21.5cm across by 45cm (inc disconnect.). So I'd need internal dimensions of about 44cm x 45cm - is that realistic? :wha:

What fridges are people using? and what are the internal dimensions like?

WIll probably pop to currys with a tape measure at some point but wondering if there were any recommendations of things to look out for?
Due to space I'm going to go for an under counter style fridge rather than a massive tall one.

Just take the kegs with you mate, I`m sure your brighten up some sales assistants day :) Trouble with most domestic fridges is where the compressor is located normally at the back on the bottom, right in the way and the amount of door shelves in the way. Another point has it got the cooling plate at the rear or pipe work in the insulation, if the latter are you planning to drill holes?

Have fun shopping

Interesting, I'm guessing theres not enough depth for 2 rows in there Buster?
I've just emptied my food fridge, tried to ram my kegs in there. I can easily get two width-wise, but not on the depth...
Going to have to do a heap of research.... It would be sweet if I could find a fridge to fit all 4 in...

If the fridge isn't important to you or it's a freebie, cutting the shelf rails out means you might be able to get 2 along side each other, and possibly squeeze in another, maybe even 4 in total.

EDIT...rails cut out.

Pic of fridge with 4 cornies in

by the way, is that 2 inline restrictors you have in there ??
They're non return valves so beer doesn't get in the reg. They're not perfect but they do the job, for some really nice non returns that screw onto the disconnect see the Can Direct webby

Vossey I many thanks for info you have answered all my questions with a couple of photos thank you :thumb:

Oh nice!

Thats the sort of thing I'm looking for Vossy, except a short fridge for my mini cornies.

I guess I need to get along to the shop with a tape measure (or some cornies!) and see what is around.

This is my beer fridge

Unfortunately SWMBO took one look at it and decided that it was a perfect overspill fridge for the one in the house

Before deciding on the LEC commercial fridge I took 8 cornies to Currys snd tried them out.

The exclusion order expires soon

6 full & 6 short, thats pretty epic, shame about all the food taking up space...

I see your fridge and raise you one Novum 610, 9 full and 4 short, or 10 and 3...in addition to my fridge above which can take 8, that's 17 full and 3 short   :P ...

Shame I now only have 8 cornies  I think the novum will have to go :( I bought this freezer after seeing one at a friends house, he had a tap serving board above it and 8 cornies on draught...and of course you could see the cornies in all their shiny lovliness through the glass lid...it was the dogs bollocks  .I bought it with the idea of making lots of BIG Durden recipes with +1year maturation times but still haven't gotten round to brewing that often

Wowzers!! :thumb:

Is a freezer OK as a kegerator? Could I use a freezer to control fermentation temp is that possible with a STC1000?

Also, any reason why not to use one of those non-compressor wine fridges?

hmmm :wha:

The only issue I have using a freezer as a kegerator is that you have to lift the kegs up quite high and then lower them in. This was not good for my dodgy back. Even with a hoist it was a bit of a pain.
