I've just come back from picking up 4 glass Demijohns, 12 wine bottles and a 3 tier wooden wine rack from a nice chap who had put them up for offer on FreeCycle.

I'm absolutely made up. :D

I've got the Home Brew Forum to thank as I didn't know about Freecycle until i came across a post which mentioned it.

I joined my local one Monday gone and this morning there was a post with the DJ's, bottles and wine rack. I got in touch with the guy offering these items and he said I was beaten to it, another person was coming to collect. This person didn't turn up and I was second in line and was contacted and asked to come and pick the items up.

Didn't need to ask me twice.....mint :D

I've not done so good with the freecycle for brewing stuff, I done OK on eBay, got 12 DJs for a tenner, and some cases for a few quid, but I did get a wicked Sony turntable from freecycle

12 Demi's for a tenner is a steal.

It's been a long time since I last seen a turntable.

Yeah, freecycle's great. I got my first 5 DJs from there.
Since then I've picked up 4 DJs and a 25L FV from the charity shop attached to our local tip.
DJs are £1 each, the FV was £2.

I thought I had enough, but now think I could do with another FV so I can get two big brews on at the same time ...

Hi, I got good results by putting a wanted ad on freecycle (16x dj's, 3xfv's and more thermometers and hydrometers etc than I can shake a brewing spoon at)!!

Jammy git! Very rarely see brewing kit on my local ones...

I managed to get an FV, a bottling vessel and an FV heater band from the Oxford Freegle (alternative FreeCycle) a few months ago. :thumb:

I got the entire Sony stack system in a cabinet, with 4 speakers, and an entire 1964 collection of Encyclopedia Britannica from the same guy
