SB - i think dandelion wine is traditonaly made around St Georges day? may be wrong though

i reckon a wurzel type wine would be best because as moley says - we don`t want to wait 12 months plus to try a fruit or vegetable wine!

and EVERYONE loves a wurzel`s :drunk:

i have not got a clue about wine and length of time needed, but im up for making whatever is decided got to be worth a grin

I am very up for this.

I propose the wine to be made to a maximum OG 1.090 and fermented to a FG of 1.000. The must to comprise of a maximum of 4 cans of up to 2 different fruits with the remaining volume made up of sugar syrup or white or red 'supermarket' grape juice.

Total cost for 6 bottles ~ £3.

To be finally bottled in 500ml PET bottles and distributed to at least 2 designated judges.

Two months to elapse between the start date of the competition and the judging.

Does that sound OK?

No, even if we are talking about quick juice or fruity bags wines, I would still say 3 months minimum, let's at least give it some maturation or bottle time.

I still think parsnip should be a contender, maybe a parsnip sherry, OG at least 1.130 and judging Christmas 2010.

PET bottles? Where do I get 500ml versions of those? What's wrong with normal wine bottles?

By the way - is this delivery service interesting to anyone - £3.79 for shipping in the UK up to 10kg, collect from a local depot: http://www.collectplus.co.uk/

Coke/soft drink bottles. Was only thinking of PET for the weight saved over glass.
