Hi guys,

New to forum, done a few brews from kits, 2 successful, last one failed. Done a Festival Suffolk Strong Ale and when siphoning I forgot to use the hop filter bag for about half the siphon, then remembered and restarted the siphon with it on. I had a tube with sediment trap on originally so I think this caught most of the bigger bits, but my question is if the hops got into the secondary, what affect will this have on overall flavour, and will it settle to the bottom of the keg and not end up in my pint? (in the fermenter there seems to be a lot of suspended hops, now whether this was because some settled on the top and bottom and made it look like this I'm not sure?).:whistle:

It will settle out and may end up in your pint but the pint will be none the worse I reckon.

Just strain it out with your teeth.

You could even grow a mustache for the duration (this is "banter", rather than an actual HB'ing recommendation).

Hop debris will cause no issues, mainly as it will gravitate out and is essentially anti-bacterial. :thumb:

That's what you reckon Slid. You should see my upper lip hop strainer in action. I fully endorse mustache growing

Hear hear! Facial hair is good ... although my beard comes with no moustache and is there to mainly catch my dribbles!:ugeek:!

My facial hair was trimmed down recently to 'summer mode' but even still, I reckon i've still got hop debris in it from last night.

Feel free to use this photo to keep burglars away from your door if you like.
