Hello

I have read a number of topics on carbing beer in a corny. My question is this....

On my regulator the max number on the low pressure gauge is 10 bar. I have seen topics stating the reg should be set at 30 bar for 24hrs to carb the beer.

Im guessing I can't do this unless I'm reading the gauge incorrectly and 1bar on my reg, which has ten little strokes between bar numbers actually equates to 10.

Also, if 10 bar is the max number on my reg, what number should I set the regulator to to carb the beer and how long will it take at these figures?

Thanks

Steve.

NO!

1 Bar is about 15 pounds per square inch.

To force carbonate you're probably looking for about 30 psi, 2 Bar.

Take another look at your dials, there are usually dual scales, ancient and modern.

Are you trying to create a rocket? 30 bar is roughly 435.113213 psi and your corny will only withstand about 100psi. It'll be 30 psi but I would use about 20 psi unless you want to force carb it really quickly

Beautiful.

Thanks....this is why I asked before doing.....I could have drinking my IPA on the moon if I hadn't.

Thanks again

Steve
