Foolproof brewing

hi folks, small problem with stout kit, i would appreciate any advice, this is my first venture into beer brewing. the stout started fermenting 12 days ago, but for the last 6 days the hydrometer reading has stuch to 1.016 from an OG of 1.043, ive tried gently agitating the liquid but nothing happening, the only things added were the Coopers brew enhancer 1 and a tin of black treacle ?? should i be worried??

Not really , what temp is it at?

Ideally a couple more points down would be nice but it could well be finished

thanks for the reply, its been sitting around 21degrees, i expected it to finish around SG 1.008

That's only about 63% attenuation. I think 1008 is optimistic with a stout kit, but you should be getting 70%ish attenuation, at least, so 1013 or so. It might still get there, maybe raise the temp a bit if you can.
