Hi guys, first time brewer here with a few questions...

I've just started off a Coopers European Lager today. I'm planning on bottling this when ready. I have 2 FVs, 1 with a tap, 1 without. I have started the fermentation off in the FV without the tap. My plan is to syphon the lager from the first FV to the one with the tap before batch priming and bottling using the tap and a bottler attachment.

Does this sound like the best way to go about it?

I've heard talk of leaving the lager in the second FV for a while to clear before bottling, is this right and if so how long should it be left before bottling?

Any other pointers?

Cheers

Chris

Hello Glamdring. From what I have seen/read you can indeed leave in a secondary FV to allow the beer to clear more, the yeast settle. I haven't done this yet though so as its your first brew (I've only done a few myself!) I would say your plan is spot on and the beers will condition/clear fine enough in the bottles. Keep them warm for 2 weeks then cold for as long as. :thumb:
