I started a turbo cider last weekend using ScottM's guide in the how to section (cheers scott). All seems to be going well, the fermentation has settled down, I've topped up with additional juice and there are visible (and often audible) bubbles coming up the side of the demijohn. Thing is, there's nothing coming through the airlock.
I'm using a plastic demijohn and I've read that it can be difficult to get a decent seal. As long as it's not going to have any ill effects of the cider I'm not too bothered but I would like to be able to get a better seal. I'm thinking of using tape around the base of the cap and using some sort of putty over the grommet. Would there be any issues with doing this? Are there any better ways of getting a decent seal?
