Well just had a pint of my coopers lager and i think i have to be pretty happy with it :D

It has only been in bottles for 2 weeks so if it will only get better from here then it will be a very drinkable lager. Plenty of fizz and very crisp, it formed a good head which had disappeared by the time i got halfway down but no different to any other lager.

Only thing which made me wonder was that it appeared to be not as clear as before it went in the fridge? I'd still say it was clear enough, but a week ago when it had been conditioning in the cool space under the stairs for 6-7 days it looked like this -

Still, as i say it's perfectly drinkable as it is now so by christmas it should be rather tasty

nice looking lager you got there! alot of my brews come out of the fridge hazy aswell, i think the term for it is a 'chill haze' so not to worry, aslong as it tastes good!

Is that maybe something like what happens to good whisky (the non chill filtered ones) when they get cold? Some of the fatty acids that remain condense a little to give a slight cloudiness?

I'm sure there's a boffin on here who can say... :)

that is normal, and will happen to most beers, they haze when they are chilled. I dpn't know the scientific reason behind why this happens, nor do i know how to prevent it.

However, I believe one of the reasons for 'lagering' beers at cold temperatures is so this doesn't happen.

i remember the first taste of my frist brew in Feb this year, I expected it to be yuck but it was delicious. Congratulations on your first brew. I waited 4 weeks before sampling my first one, so i reckon you should put the rest away until Christmas and get another one on the go!
