doing my 1st lager today, got the mash on at the moment at 68C, recipe is
5kg lager malt, 250g carapils
then i have 25g Saaz for 60 min boil and another 25g for last 15 minutes of the boil.

Got a pilsner yeast for the yeast, starter is all ready to pitch :)

Going to ferment at 11C for 2 weeks then lager at 4C for the about a month :)

Hopefully this all turns out well

I did something quite similar (fermenting wise) recently, s23 yeast at 12C for a week, then brought it up to 18C for two days (put it in the dining room) and lagered for 4 weeks, 4C, it was excellent. I thought my lager mates woyuld drink it all, they had some but I wolfed it in under a fortnight! And I'm an ale monkey! G'luck mate! I'm converted!

Down to 1015 today, the sample form the trial was nice, a little sweet still though but definitely tastes like a lager :)

Looks good. Got to do another lager myself - I'll probably start it next week. There's a fridge upstairs just ready and waiting...

Hows the lager progressing Cyclops? MY second attempt went smelly and is about to be thrown.
