No, it won't, you'll still get beer but at higher temps the yeast produces different (nasty-tasting) alcohols.

You need a brewfridge...

Hi m0cej, I wouldn't worry.
If it was just the starting temp then, based on my experience, I think it will be ok. I have done that as well. I just could not get the temp down. I pitched the yeast anyway and it all worked out ok. In reality it probably only stayed at that temp for a few hours right at the start and as it slowly cooled during the night the yeast started to get to work.
Better to get the yeast going ASAP as it is said the beer is vulnerable to infection at the start.
I found that by the morning it was down to the ideal brewing temp.
BUT - Make sure it remains within the ideal brewing range once it has got going then forget about it for a few weeks. Winelight is spot on. If brewed at too high a temperature it will generate nasty tastes/flavours.
Good luck with it!

Yes, good point, as long as his lounge isn't heated to 30!

An experienced brewer said in another topic the other day that he had just made a brew that he left 6 hours to cool down before he pitched the yeast.

I think this is one of those issues where (as with so much in home brewing) "it doesn't really matter". They say pitch at 21, they say pitch as soon as possible... but in reality if you pitch at 30 and it cools down overnight, or you leave it overnight before you pitch the yeast... it won't make much difference.
