Did a Coopers Irish Stout kit with the following:

500g Medium spray malt
454g Golden Syrup
500g Demerara sugar

Been bottled for 2 weeks, so I thought I’d crack one and give it a taste, the rest are put away for Christmas in my garage now… yum

Really smooth, decent head after pouring, but disappeared after a couple of mouthfuls. Nice smell of the syrup, and an aftertaste of coffee, but no bitterness… really impressed.

Wife says I’m going through a midlife crisis, as I’ve got a Newkie brown in the fermenter already, and 2 turbo ciders on the go 🤣🤣🤣

Going to be a fun Chrimbo in the Sephibaby house!

Regards,
Seph

Brew her something she really likes and show her it's midlife genius. Never fails. My good lady's French, but I've weaned her off litres of dodgy piquette and she's now knecking down pints of my Nectaron pseudo lager faster than I can make it! Haven't had any digs about being a brewing widow recently!
