Hi,

I've been researching like a madman. When I go to sleep i'm thinking about brewing, and the same when im waking up! Anyhow I will be buying the following ingredients and here is my procedure:

3kg Pale Malt
1kg Crystal Malt 40L
500g Dextrin Malt (CaraPil)

75 minute mash

0.5oz Magnum Hops (60m)
0.5oz Fuggles (15m)
0.5oz Fuggles (5m)

Nottingham Yeast

Misc
1 TBSP PH 5.2 in Strike water
1 TSP Irish Moss in Boil @ 15 mins

7 days fermentation (I think this is a bit short, any ideas???)
ABV: 4.4%

What do you guys think about this recipe? easy enough? This will be my first brew. The fermentation looks a bit short. I don't want to start with extract. I realise there is less chance of going wrong but I am confident enough to throw myself in at the deep end, if it goes wrong try again! Follow link below to see where I got the recipe:

Thanks in Advance

congratulations on thinking about doing your first AG. i too jumped in at the deep end and went AG. Normally a 90 minute mash is the norm, The Irish moss needs to go in 15 minutes from the end, do you have a way of controlling the fermentation temps now it is a bit warmer? other than that i would say it should make a nice beer. :)

Thanks! What's the worst that can happen? the beer turns out bad? i'll drink it anyway!

I'm not too sure what the fermentation temperature should be. I live in an apartment near Singapore, but i'm on the 9th floor so its pretty cool up here, and I have a dark walk-in cupboard. Supplies are a bit harder to get out here so I have to hunt things down. Is there any way of wrapping something around the FV to make cooler? I think the fridge will be too cool, right?

Thanks
