About to make my first ale home brew, please could someone help me. When I put my primary fermentation bin, is the lid sealed or do I use a airlock? also same question for the secondary fermentation bin?

Personally I leave the lid loose, others use an air lock but in over 30 years I never have. Some of the the greatest brewery's in the UK have completely open fermenters. There is no right or wrong way.

I usually use an airlock just to he sure and cos I like the bubbles. Personally, I don't bother using a second FV.
