Hi All,
I have two on go at the moment:
First one, brewed on Christmas Day and just about to be kegged, is a recreation (or attempt thereof) of the near-mythical Robinwood Best Bitter. The Robinwood brewery produced some outstanding beer between the years of 1988 and 1993 - a fairly short time. But they managed, in that time, to brew up my very first real ale and by God, that was a life changing moment.
I've been attempting to recreate the beer ever since (or at least the characteristics I can remember of it). I've gone through dozens of iterations over the years and the last one I did (at the tail end of last year) was *almost* there. I'm hoping this current one has nailed it :)
Second one on the go is "Bloody Peculiar", which is me riffing on a popular brand with a black label. It's one of my go-to beers but is a faff to make due to having to muck around with getting molasses out of a jar. It's still in primary at the moment.
Cheers
John
