Hi one and all ,
I am now on my third evening of sampling my very first Home brew, yes you guessed it I like a drink, and this happens to be thoroughly enjoyable.
Xmas 2012 gift from the better half = Basic home brew kit with Young's Scottish Heavy as my introduction, as I we are only here (in the UK) for a few months of the year I put off starting to brew, but three and a half weeks ago my curiosity got the better of me and now we are in full flow. Upon drawing my first pint from the pressure barrel it became clear that it was far from carbonated, a quick squirt of C02 from the 8oz cartridge revealed a leek in the valve and also produced my first cloudy sweet pint. WOW, 3 pints later and I was flying!
Why is it that some types of alcohol give you giggles and make you high others just get you drunk? Happy as Larry , yeah you bet.
So the next morning it was straight up Wilkinson's for a couple of Woodfordes wherry, the first of which is now nearly ready for the pressure barrel, for which I have now brought a new lid with an S30 Valve and a gas bottle.
Today has been spent scouring Ebay for Corny Kegs and fittings and planning how I am gonna ship my newly acquired equipment back to Ibiza when we leave in 8 weeks time.
From this forum I have gleaned so much information, thanks to all of you who post here. :)
Get ready residents of Port des Torrent, Ibiza, the party will be at my house all summer long,
More posts sure to follow :drunk:
