So i have got my first ever brew going which i started around 44 hours ago - Woodfordes Wherry - OG 1.041 and have just done a reading now which is at 1.027 and just wanting to know if this sounds about right to the seasoned experts on here :)

Lots of froth on the top and smelling pretty damn fine already

So far so good. If you do get a stuck fermentation then don't worry, give your Fv a shake or stir with a sanitised spoon to give the yeasties some encouragement. Try and keep the temperature between 17C and 21C if you can.

Cheers chaps - temp has been a constant 19-20 degrees so should be okay. If it gives you a range of say 18-22 should i aim for 22 or 18 or does it not really matter?

Given the choice low and slow as Heston says, but that is a bit of a generalisation:???:
