went for a Belfast Blonde from Geterbrewed as I got a freebie when I ordered their BIAB kit
seems to have gone to plan so far, mid boil atm so having a cold one and a sit down for a minute !
old numpty here used scissors to open the vacuum bag of 60min hops not realising inside was a pellet tea bag so I managed to snip a bleddy hole in the middle of it  I clipped the bag above the element so the activity would agitate the hops as a solution, should be ok as I plan to dry hop this beer before bottling anyway

pre boil gravity was 1.042 @20degrees, does that sound ok ?

Congrats on your first BIAB and one lesson learned already with the packet opening, the gravity will be higher post boil as there will be less liquid, what was the size of the brew and the expected OG for the recipe?

cheers cheapbrew, I really enjoyed it ! pre boil volume was 26.5ltrs and I managed to get 20ltrs into the fv and og was 1.052 (recommended 1.056 so not far off) I didn't top up as I don't mind a short brew
picking up the hops on the nose this morning on opening the brew fridge so all good there :thumb:

Sounds like a nice strong un.
I did a BIAB pm last night. The only prob I had was with the colindar/sieve. With the pouring of the wort it came loose, and before that when straining for the sparge. It was sanitized but I could still do without the splashing and mess. I need one that fits the FV snug. Any ideas where I can get one?
Hope you've got Ur beer at a nice temp mate. Keep us posted

I claimed our dicarded dish rack when we upgraded the kitchen. (The sieve was perfect for my stove top brews). The dish rack works quite well for propping the bag on for a squeeze too.

I remember some people used something similar to this.

Though I think they got them cheaper than that at b&m or a pound stretcher.
