Hi

I am new to this homebrew but can anyone send me a recipe for a very straight forward all grain brew.

I have a 5 litre pan and I have all the fv gear.

I am not a lover of a very hoppy beer.

Cheers

hi

thanks for that info, I am off work tonight so I will have a good read.

will a 12 litre pan be enough to make a 5 litre batch of beer in from all grain, as I see you can buy them in wilko now.

I do mainly 5/6 litre BIAB and also partial mash brews. I have is a 10 litre pot and a 6 litre pot. I do a 5 litre mash in the bigger one, a dunk sparge in the smaller one. Give the bag a damn good squeeze and transfer the liquid to my bigger pot.:thumb:

12 Litre pot is good for around a 10 Litre AG brew, and added to a one can kit will make you very good beer indeed at a full 23L.

It requires a BIAB nylon bag, an FV and if you have an oven big enough for the 12L pot, you are home and dry.

Heat some water - 9Lor so to 72C and add 2.5KG of grain to the Pot - bung it in the oven @ 50C - lowest setting. After 30 mins, give it another good stir.

Then. you line the FV with the bag, chuck the whole lot in and squeeze it out a bit. The sparge is done by putting 5-6L water in the Pot and putting the grain bag back into the pot.

Returning the pot to the stove and giving it some gentle heating, up to 75C , gets the "mash-out"

Then, you put that wort into the FV for a moment and then put all the wort into the FV for the boil..
