Anyone doing anything for it this year? I have a few bits, going to get the rest over the next couple of weeks. Just wondered if I was the only big kid on here :hmm:

I'm going down to London to finish a job that my uncle Guy Fawkes didn't get to finish .

hopefully celebrating another fine thistle win with a nice ale while watching some fireworks that someone else has bought!

Fireworks should be banned. Or only at organized events and only for the one night. YES IM A PET OWNER. I also have to clear my garden of sticks and cardboard tubes that land in my pond, on my car and on my roof.

was not too bad last year, but the year before it was like Beruit/Iraq/etc

thought i was in a war zone

i like them just not at silly o'clock

Is it just round here or is it very quiet regards kids letting them off all the time :hmm: ...

I'm not to far away from you Vossy and I have heard them already or was it the gun shots on the racecourse :hmm: :hmm:

My kids love fireworks, and I think its really just an excuse for me to be one of them.

We buy a couple of the variety boxes and include loads of rockets. The neighbours and a few family members join us and add to the collection. The BBQ is always out, and jacket potatoes are cooked in the oven.

Sparklers for the kids, beer for the adults, and it always turns out a great evening.

I'l be heading down to roundhay park in Leeds as they always do a cracking display.

Also the Roundhay Fox pub is a corker too!

I'm lucky enough to live next to cofton park where there's always a huge display. we head over the fields behind my house with about £100 worth of fireworks, fire making stuff and plenty o' beer, watch their display, then do our own. Been doing it for years despite the fact I'm not very old, but hey, why fix it?

Snail59.. I agree that they should just be sold to organisers (the really big bang ones!) last year a lovely neighbour decided to let aload off ..at 1AM!!!!!!! and our daughter was ill at the time, hence to say i was not amused

But.. we do like fireworks and we take the kids to see a display and they go on the rides at the fair there too :D

I would not agree that fireworks should be banned, but there is a time and a place for them. I am also a pet owner, and so are the neighbours, never been an issue.... generally its only once a year! Rockets should be fired out on to empty land and picked up the next day, if there is no empty space to fire them, cakes/SIB may be a better option as they wont leave huge sticks everywhere.

Sorry for those who have had bad experiences with them,But to say they should be banned completely, sorry dont agree.

For those who will be hosting a display, has anyone thought about what they will be buying?

These. Apparently they're quite close to the legal limit for non-experts, we have them every year and they're loud as hell

I have never heard of those, cube do make some good bits though. Are these just noise makers, or is there any colour to them?
