Hi.

I've not brewed for a long long time but I will be bottling a branch of Festival Landlords soon probably Sat/Sun and I'd like to ask about finings.

I like my beer clear so are they worth using?
If so what type?
What is the best way to use them?

Many Thanks. Aamcle

ive never had a problem really except chill haze and thats fixed with irish moss when boiling. another issue can be the yeast still in solution- unless u really need it bottled i usually wait till it settles only takes a week or 24hrs in the cold garage, this can be accelerated by some bog standard gelatin from tescos dissolved in some lukewarm water and added preferably when the beer is somewhere cold. gelatin or finings are rarely needed and the beer tends to clear in the bottle quite well, but i could understand using them if need clear beer for kegging in a corny or need speed or even a low flocculating yeast
