How slow do my bubbles need to get to for me to think about testing to see if the wines ready for racking?
Got an elderberry going for 3 weeks, now down to a bubble every 30 to 40 seconds?

I would give it another few days for good measure and then sanitize your hydrometer and take three readings over a few days, if it remains the same then rack away :thumb:

Thanks
Is that slow enough then coz its been there or thereabouts for about 5 days?

You really need to check with you hydrometer if it has fully fermented then it should read 0.996. If it is still bubling like that I would leave it until it stops.

I'd have said 0.990, give or take a couple.

Check the temperature and let it go a bit further.

I don't use a hydrometer, I use my eyes, get yourself a magnifying glass and look at the little bubbles around the shoulder of the DJ or the edge of the liquid.

When you think it's finished, taste it.

My hydrometer is only used for final confirmation, and quite often that's after racking.
